Desmond Bane also played a crucial role, contributing 22 points and sinking two pivotal free throws with just 28.3 seconds left on the clock, which pushed the Magic ahead 118-117. Anthony Black further bolstered the team's performance by adding 21 points, while Banchero complemented his scoring with eight assists and seven rebounds, showcasing his all-around game.
On the other side, Lauri Markkanen topped the Jazz's score sheet with 27 points. Jaren Jackson Jr., making his much-anticipated debut for Utah after being traded from Memphis earlier in the week, scored 22 points, with a notable 17 coming in the first half. Isaiah Collier contributed 20 points as well, but despite their efforts, the Jazz faced their second consecutive loss and have now dropped 18 out of their last 22 games.
This week’s trade brought Jackson to Utah, and he was not alone in making his debut; John Konchar and Vince Williams Jr. also took the court for the Jazz for the first time following the trade deal. Meanwhile, Keyonte George made his return to the lineup after sitting out three games due to a sprained left ankle, but he managed only five points in this matchup.
